PHS Waterlogic Achieve Carbon Trust Re-certification & Further Reductions

Logo

Waterlogic’s sole distributor in the UK, PHS Waterlogic, were the first company to have their water dispensers independently certified by the Carbon Trust and have just had their water dispensers re-certified to demonstrate continued achievement in carbon reductions across the range since 2010.

In these recent re-certifications, carbon reductions were achieved across PHS’ range of Waterlogic dispensers, achieving between a further one and five percent reduction across the two-year certification period. The WL2000 water dispenser achieved a highly impressive five percent reduction in carbon emissions per litre of water dispensed. With these re-certifications, the machines in the UK can continue to display ‘Carbon Reduction Labels’, which signifies the machines emit acceptable levels of CO2 and other greenhouse gases at every stage of the machines’ lifecycle, from the manufacturing process through to the dispensing of the water by users.

With PHS Waterlogic being part of the Carbon Trust programme, they have actively looked at ways of reducing carbon throughout the product lifecycle and introduced some carbon reduction activities, including the introduction of new filters that enable the filter’s plastic to be reused. These new filters enable the filter’s plastic housing to be reused, rather than sent to landfill. The internal parts are then recycled and only the carbon filtration granules themselves are now replaced and disposed of, decreasing the amount of material sent to landfill by over 81 per cent.

Look out soon for the latest range of Waterlogic filters available worldwide, that includes re-usable filter cartridges.
