Waterlogic acquires distributor Pure Pro in Bulgaria

MAIDENHEAD, UK, 29 OCTOBER 2021 – Waterlogic, a leading global designer, manufacturer, distributor and service provider of purified drinking water dispensers, is pleased to announce the acquisition of Pure Pro, a long-standing distributor of Waterlogic products in Bulgaria.

Established in 2011, Pure Pro sells, leases and services mains-fed freestanding dispensers, integrated taps and air purification systems to offices, factories, medical and educational institutions, plus high-volume solutions for the hospitality sector. Over the last 10 years, Pure Pro has continued to grow through an unrivalled understanding of how to deliver the best and safest plastic-free drinking water solutions and exceptional local service. The company is headquartered in Sofia with service centers in Sofia, Varna and Burgas.

Founded in 1992, Waterlogic is a vertically integrated company operating throughout Europe, the Americas and Australia, with its own manufacturing operations and an extensive independent global distribution network, together reaching over 70 countries. Waterlogic has pioneered the application of advanced technology in the design of its water dispensers to deliver the most sustainable, safest water proven effective against COVID-19. The company is responsible for hydrating nearly 50 million consumers daily and contributes to the reduction of 23.8 billion single-use plastic bottles each year.

Olaf Wilhelm, CEO Waterlogic GmbH said, “Their strong team, established customer base and deep knowledge of Waterlogic dispensers makes this acquisition the logical next step as we grow our direct presence in Central and Eastern Europe and enter Bulgaria for the first time. We have spent many years getting to know Pure Pro, and we welcome Kamelia and the team to the Waterlogic family to continue the outstanding growth and commitment to the hydration needs of their customers they have provided over the last 10 years.”

The deal builds on Waterlogic’s growth ambition in Central and Eastern Europe following their entry into the region with the acquisition of Lux Aqua Czech and Lux Aqua Hungary in 2018. The company continues to actively expand its footprint in the region to offer an extensive range of freestanding and countertop dispensers, Billi integrated taps and Purezza, the company’s specialty restaurant and hospitality solution.

Kamelia Toneva, Pure Pro Executive Director, commented, We are extremely excited about becoming part of the Waterlogic family as they can provide the resources, support, economies of scale and business opportunities required for future long-term growth. Waterlogic’s commitment to safety and sustainability complements our own approach to business. By combining our strengths and capabilities, we will be even more effective in serving customers in Bulgaria who rely on hygienic access to great-tasting drinking water without the need for plastic bottles and high quality air purification systems.”

Waterlogic was acquired in January 2015 by funds managed by Castik Capital, the European private equity investor. Pure Pro is the most recent acquisition as part of the company’s buy and build strategy since the acquisition by Castik, and following substantial acquisitions in the U.S. and Canada, UK, Australia, Spain, France, Germany, Latin America and Scandinavia.
