MAIDENHEAD, UK, 31st December 2021 – Waterlogic, a leading global designer, manufacturer, distributor and service provider of purified drinking water dispensers, is pleased to announce the acquisition of Aquamaq.

Aquamaq began life in 2002 and in almost 20 years has grown into a significant player in the Colombian point-of-use (POU) water dispense market. Founded by the Delmas Peña family, today Aquamaq has a substantial customer base in 131 cities and towns throughout Colombia. Aquamaq’s customer base includes blue-chip companies in the fields of Financial Services, Food & Beverages, Telecommunications and Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs). Based in Bogota, the company employs 23 people.

Founded in 1992, Waterlogic has pioneered the application of advanced technology, proven effective against COVID-19, in the design of its water dispensers, to deliver the safest, best-tasting water, in the most sustainable way to organisations around the world. Waterlogic is a vertically integrated company operating throughout Europe, the Americas and Australia with its own manufacturing operations in Australia, China and the U.S, and an extensive independent global distribution network reaching over 50 countries.

Rodrigo Serres, Waterlogic Managing Director for Latin America said, “We are very excited about this new acquisition in Colombia, welcoming the excellent Aquamaq team to the Waterlogic family. This integration will allow us to reach a significant number of new clients, delivering our innovative technology and Total Care Service. Colombia’s POU market has been rapidly embracing Waterlogic’s technology, delivering water of a high purity level and helping protect users against Covid-19.”

The acquisition further complements Waterlogic’s existing presence in the important Colombian market, adding substantial growth to the business. It also offers an exciting opportunity to bring Waterlogic’s high quality machine range to a diverse customer base that includes many blue-chip clients.

Norman Delmas Peña, Aquamaq shareholder said, Becoming part of the Waterlogic group means a huge amount to us. Having demonstrated their ambition for success in Colombia by establishing a direct presence here in 2020, Waterlogic are the ideal partner to build upon the success of Aquamaq. Our high profile client list will benefit from the added value provided by Waterlogic’s unrivalled product range, technical support and excellent customer service.”

Waterlogic was acquired in January 2015 by funds managed by Castik Capital, a European-based private equity investor. Aquamaq is the most recent acquisition as part of the company’s buy and build strategy since the acquisition by Castik, and following substantial acquisitions in the U.S. and Canada, UK, Australia, Spain, France, Germany, Latin America and Scandinavia.
