Staff from Angel Springs the UK's leading water cooler provider took part in the fun and games hosted by Compton Hospice over the weekend in the charities annual ‘Compton in the Park’ fun day, held at West Park, Wolverhampton.
Compton in the Park is a free fundraising event organised by Compton Hospice, which offers care and support to patients with life-limiting illnesses. The hospice cares for more than 1,500 people in Wolverhampton and the surrounding areas, relying on donations and fundraising initiatives to fund its work.
Activities on the day included market stalls, funfair rides, a petting zoo, a 5 mile sponsored ‘Memory Walk/Fun Run’ and last but not least the signature and extremely hilarious ‘It’s a Knockout’ competition themed on the original eighties game show.
This was Angel’s third ‘It’s a Knockout’ challenge Imogen Jackson, Outbound Team Leader at Angel Springs and team captain of The ‘Cooler’ Kids commented, “The cooler kids may have come last but we were by far the most entertaining! Well done to my team it’s the taking part that counts!”
David Henn, Customer Relations Executive at Angel Springs and team captain of No ‘Quits’ allowed commented, absolutely brilliant day! So much fun for such a good cause! Proud of my team for coming 3rd and beating ‘‘The Loser Kids’ I mean ‘The Cooler Kids’.
Rachel Jones Commercial Manager said ‘This is the 3rd time we have entered the It’s A Knockout competition for Compton Hospice but the first time we have entered 2 teams. Once again the staff had a fantastic day of fun whilst raising money for such an important charity. As the staff are from my Sales and Customer Retention teams there was a lot of competitive spirit, but team ‘No Quits Allowed’ led by Team Captain Dave Henn, won the day by coming 3rd overall and getting a place on the podium! Unfortunately ‘The Cooler Kids’ Led by Team Captain Imogen Jackson came last! However, it is the taking part that’s important (well that is what they are consoling themselves with today)! There a few aches and pains in the office today but it’s well worth it as we will have raised over £1000 for Compton! I would like to thank all the staff who took part and gave up their free time on a weekend to join in and everyone who sponsored us.’
