Angel Springs support the Overgate Hospice 30th Anniversary Midnight Walk

Angel Springs the UK’s leading supplier of bottled and mains-fed water coolers, helped more than 500 people stay hydrated during a midnight walk to raise money for a Halifax hospice this month. The Overgate Hospice is celebrating 30 years of helping the local community in Calderdale. But it needs almost £35,000 a week to continue providing palliative care for life-limited patients in the area. On September 10, more than 500 people took part in a 13-mile midnight walk to raise much-needed funds to support the hospice’s work. Angel Springs helped out by supplying 200 bottles of pure spring water for the walkers to drink. The event, held at North Bridge Leisure Centre, is the latest Overgate fundraiser to be supported by Angel Springs, which signed up as an official corporate member of the hospice after supplying bottled water for a 10k fundraising run in April. Lauren Ingram Events Fundraiser for the hospice provided the following statement, “I would like to say a massive thank you to Angel Springs who supported the Overgate Hospice Midnight Walk, we hope the event will raise over £40,000 enabling our nurses to continue the care for local people of Calderdale. The weather stayed fine all night and everyone seemed to be in great spirits even if the route was a little challenging. We had so much local support and couldn’t have done the event without the help of kind companies like Angel Springs who donated the water for walkers. We look forward to welcoming even more walkers next year!” “We’re delighted to be associated with Overgate Hospice, which provides a vital service for life-limited patients, and their families, in the Calderdale area,” said Angel Springs commercial director John Murphy. “Overgate Hospice is close to our offices in Elland and it was an easy decision for us to get involved in supporting its work. Angel Springs is committed to corporate social responsibility and takes pride in helping this very worthy cause to raise money to fund its vital services in the local area.”
