Last Sunday marked the return of the Liverpool Marathon after a gap of almost twenty years since it was last held in 1992. Thousands gathered on the streets of Liverpool many of whom were regular road runners, charity fundraisers were cheered on by friends, family and colleagues. Starting at the Birkenhead Tunnel the 26 mile route went into south Liverpool finishing just outside of the three graces water front. Angel driver Damien Williams from our Halifax depot took on the challenge of competing and finished the marathon in a remarkable time of 4 hours & 56 minutes, in order to raise money for the Royal British Legion. The Royal British Legion plays a crucial role supporting serving armed forces personnel, veterans, heroes and their families in the UK. It provides a range of services, including mental and physical health support, housing, community care, disability support, skills development and repatriation. A total of £335.00 was raised including a £100 sponsorship from Angel Springs the UK’s leading service provider of both bottled and mains fed water coolers, and donations are still coming in!
