    Water and the Body Beautiful

Open any beauty magazine and you'd be forgiven for thinking that the route to beautiful skin is via expensive products and treatments, many of which include complex chemical-based ingredients! The fact is, human skin is mainly made up of water, with collagen, fats and a supporting structure of bone and muscles. It is water that keeps the skin looking at its best! You'll find that a great number of beauty products contain oils and other ingredients that claim to plump and fill in lines and wrinkles – but dehydrated skin often shows up in the form of fine lines and dark circles under the eyes, and these suggest that the body needs more water, not complicated creams that just cover up the problem. The quickest way to boost your beauty credentials is to simply drink more water. Go to the office water coolers when you want a cold glass of the pure stuff, or keep warm on a cold afternoon with a hot drink (non-caffeinated) from the office water boiler. There are some herbal tea bags that are said to support the health of skin, such as nettle and mint. Any non-caffeinated hot drink will have benefits, though, as the water content boosts and moisturises skin from the inside rather than sit on the outer layer as moisturisers do! As you start to drink more water, you'll also notice that the dark circles under your eyes slowly disappear. If you have congested skin in the form of spots or blemishes, then regular water intake should also help here. Very quickly you should start to notice some real improvements. You may find that your fine lines start to ease as your skin becomes naturally plumper and more moisturised. You can improve the effects even further by taking beneficial supplements. Fish oils (which contain vitamin E) are said to have particular beneficial effects for skin.
