Waterlogic achieves globally recognised ISO management certifications

Waterlogic’s manufacturing HQ in Qingdao, China has achieved three globally recognised certifications to underline our strong commitment to invest in and drive performance across all environmental, social and governance (ESG) areas of the business.

Awarded by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), an independent, non-governmental organisation, the scope of the certifications covers the “Design and assembly of water-purifying dispensers and related accessories”, meaning that not a single aspect of activity was left uncertified, including research and development (R&D). Much preparation work is required in advance of applying for these certificates and passing the assessment is far from guaranteed.

The three certifications awarded are as follows:

  1. ISO 9001:2015 - Quality management systems: ISO 9001 is the internationally accepted standard for well managed organisations that have adopted the key quality management principles to its operations. Essentially, it is a sign that the organisation has in place the systems and processes to ensure a consistent quality of service. This certification had been awarded to us previously and has been extended until May 2025.
  2. ISO 14001:2015 - Environmental management systems (EMS): The purpose of this International Standard is to provide organisations like ours with a framework to protect the environment and respond to changing environmental conditions in balance with socio-economic needs. An organisation that carries the ISO 14001:2015 certifications shows serious intent to manage its environmental responsibilities in a systematic manner that contributes to the environmental pillar of sustainability.
  3. ISO 45001:2018 - Health and safety management standard: ISO 45001 is the world’s international standard for occupational health and safety, developed by national and international standards committees independently of government, and issued to protect employees and visitors from work-related accidents and diseases.

Business and employee benefits

Achieving these certifications brings many benefits to Waterlogic, from both an operational and future customer gains perspective. Internally, it means continuing to function in a safe, energy-efficient and environmentally focussed way with a culture of continuous improvement, employee wellbeing and customer focus at the core of the business.

Ensuring every employee and visitor to Waterlogic premises is safe and protected at all times remains of paramount importance and encourages customers, suppliers and investors from all over the world to visit our operations for themselves.

They also gain Waterlogic a competitive advantage in the marketplace, creating a point of difference from our competitors and increasing the chances of successfully securing new contracts from Government departments and large corporations who are increasingly looking for certified management systems as a pre-requisite for placing business.

“We feel very proud of having had our Chinese factory certified to the highest international quality and ESG standards, and hope this will allow our colleagues and dealers across the globe to win contracts by showing customers how much we care about environmental protection and health & safety for our workers”, said Philippe Barnetche, Managing Director, Waterlogic China. “From product design and manufacturing, through to components sourcing, we strive to bring our environmental and social aspirations to life.”
