Waterlogic Oceansaver Accolade presented to Co-op for introducing in-store Water Refill Points

20 June 2022 Waterlogic, a global designer, manufacturer, distributor, and service provider of purified drinking water, presents its latest Oceansaver Accolade to Co-op.

Waterlogic gives the accolade to organisations across the world that have taken steps to reduce single-use plastics and, the latest Oceansaver Accolade has been presented to Co-op for installing Water Refill Points in food stores to enable customers to fill up their own reusable water bottles.

Waterlogic bottle filling stations are mains-fed, meaning there’s a constant flow of safe, filtered water, which actively encourage consumers to use reusable drinks bottles.

Co-op’s Head of Format Development, Ian McCutcheon, who was presented with the accolade at Co-op’s new MediaCity, Salford, store said: “We are continually working to develop new ways to provide added services and choice for our Members and customers. We are facing into a climate and environmental crisis, and the water refill stations make it easier for customers to make small changes in their everyday lives which, together, add up to making a big difference to our environment.”

Mark Inasi, New Channel Development Manager, Waterlogic UK, commented: “During the pandemic Co-op has continued to support our local communities in our hours of need, but importantly have remained true to their Future of Food Plan and 10-point-plan to minimise the impact they have on the environment. We are honoured to have had the pleasure of working with their dedicated team.”

The Oceansaver Accolade programme aligns with Waterlogic’s overall company mission to pioneer solutions that use less energy, produce less waste, and extend the use of finite global resources in the most efficient way. The company aims to reduce their own environmental impact right across their supply chain, from design, manufacturing, and distribution, to managing the carbon footprint in their offices.

Waterlogic has already presented accolades to The Four Seasons Hotel, Miami, DPD UK, Goldman Sachs UK, Interserve on behalf of E.ON and the Iberostar Group amongst others, and will continue to recognise deserving, sustainability-focused customers across the world.

Last year, Co-op published its 10-Point Climate Plan – which sets out a blueprint for it to achieve net zero for its direct and indirect carbon emissions by 2040.
